The 2026-2027 forms are now available!! Register your child(ren) ages 3 years through 5th grade!
This year we are excited to offer Whirl, a fun and engaging Sunday school program that helps children grow in faith through God's Word. Designed around the church's lectionary, Whirl connects Sunday school lessons with the Scripture readings heard in worship, helping children see how God's story is part of their everyday lives.
Each week, children will:
- Discover God's Word through interactive, age-appropriate Bible stories.
- Enjoy engaging videos that bring Bible lessons to life and show how faith can be lived out every day.
- Take faith home with weekly family leaflets featuring activities and conversation starters to continue learning together.
Whirl is a wonderful opportunity for children to grow in faith, build friendships, and experience God's love in a fun, meaningful way. We invite all children to join us for Sunday School and discover the joy of learning God's Word together!
Sunday School meets every Sunday during Education Hour (9:15-10:15AM).
Children and parents will first gather in the Center Hall for announcements and an opening prayer. The children will then be escorted to their classroom by their teacher and meet in smaller groups with other children their own age where they will engage in lessons created specifically for their grade level. Lessons begin on Sunday, September 13th.
Ascension's Sunday School program depends on the dedication and generosity of our volunteers. Thank you for your willingness to help nurture the faith of the children of Ascension. Your time and presence make a lasting difference.
Our goal is to have several leaders in each classroom who work together as a team. Volunteers typically rotate teaching responsibilities, serving about two Sundays each month, making the commitment manageable while ensuring consistency for the children.
You don't need to be a Bible expert or have all the answers. What matters most is your willingness to be present, encourage the children, and help them discover and grow in their faith. We provide the materials and support needed to make volunteering as easy, meaningful, and enjoyable as possible.
Please help us spread the word! Invite other members of the Ascension community to join you. Team teaching with a friend or fellow parishioner is a wonderful way to serve together while supporting this important ministry.
